Week #67

Dear Family!

Well once again here I am! Everything sounds super good! I was super happy to see that Kody got second place in the pinewood derby! That is super sweet! So please tell him congrats for me! Also to see his birthday was super sweet, I cant believe that guy is nine years old! Everything sounds super sweet with school and with work so I am super happy! I hope that the Family Home Evening is going good and strong with the goals that we have talked about! I pray for them everyday!

That was a good little poem about faith! I did give a talk 2 weeks ago about faith, so the next time I might have to use this poem! But it is super important so that we can receive and participate in the grace that Jesus Christ has given us!

I am struggling trying to think where to start in this email...well maybe from the beginning of the week! So everything went super good for the B Family and Sister N! They just need to get married which they didn't have enough money after the divorce of her husband R so unfortunately we didn't see a baptism this week but they are super excited and geared up to get all of this done! On Wednesday I did a division with Elder H which was really good! I got to help him a little bit in his training and he took my advice really well and is doing super good! He is 24 years old so I am glad he doesn't have pride in his age! So we were in his Area and I was able to help him because he got lost! Haha I have been here too long! But they have two investigators that are going to be baptized in March! So I was able to meet them and it was super sweet! Next on Friday was Elder S's birthday! He turned 23 and I was so tempted to go to his house and throw flour and water on him while he was sleeping BUT I was struck with compassion and decided to arrange a mini surprise party for him. So on Fridays he normally has a bible study class and I told everyone to go and to bring something to eat or drink and we would surprise him after his class! He had no idea! He was asking me why so many people were coming to his class! Haha so it was a great little surprise and we made him a cake so I think it had more affect than wet flour at 5 in the morning! haha This week would also finish the training of Elder S! He was super excited and super ready so I was super blessed to have a obedient companion and he has learned a lot as well as I!

I think I have found what we lack in San Pedro! We have been extending assignments to members and trusting them more! They are such young members so we are always hesitant to give them a something big to do! But we were stopping their spiritual progress! So instead of having just gospel principles we divided into Priesthood, Relief Society, and Primary! Still teaching the Gospel Principles in the adult classes but now there are more people with assignments!

Well the news for the changes...which is still super weird to me! Yesterday at 10:15 I get a phone call from the assistants and it was President McM which I recognized his voice right away! He asked me how I was and all that good stuff, and then told me he was finalizing all the changes and he asked me if I could work in the mission office...well of course I said yes haha! But the irony of this was I have been telling my companion Elder S since he got here that he would be an office elder because he worked for the church in Peru! So the karma caught up and now on Tuesday I will be heading down to Asuncion so begin my training to become the new Fichero which is the guy in charge of all the housing in the mission. So despite the rumors of being an office Elder I will do the best I can and complete what the Lord wants! So my new PDay will be on Saturday so I will be writing more super soon! But thank you for writing and all the love and support! I will see you on Saturday!

Love Always,
Elder Milton

Week #66

Dear Family!

I really enjoyed seeing so many pictures! Sounds like it was a full week of work, fun, and traveling for Megan! From Kali riding her bike with no hands to Pinewood Derby! But I am so grateful that everyone is doing good and that everyone is healthy! Also tomorrow HAPPY BIRTHDAY KODY! I cant believe this dude is going to be 9 years old! I am always surprised to talk to kids that age and see how big they are! I always think that there is no way Kody was this big when I left! Haha so I am sure I am in for a surprise soon!

This was another surprise week of travels! We would start out the week with a division with the Zone Leaders from Santa Rosa so Elder S left for a day and came Elder H! Elder H and I had a good division, it was good get some advice and to see how I can improve and what we need to do to be better in our area. We would finish the division in the rain and travel back to Santa Rosa to pick up Elder S! For some reason the trip there and the trip back took so much time! So we left at 6 AM and I didn't get back to San Pedro with Elder S until 3 PM it was frustrating! But we got back and decided to explore an area that we had never proselyted. We received a reference to go there but it was a little far away to go to one house, but we felt that it was worth it and to give it a shot! So off we went to a place called Puerto´i. We got lost and called the reference and they came to guide us! It was a good sign of things to come! We would also get there house and share our message of the Restoration and they understood it perfectly! The family is named the Ag Family. There is a husband named J and his wife O who have a little son named J also. They are super nice! They live on the bank of a river and offered us their boat whenever we wanted to go fishing! Haha sadly we had to decline. They didn't come to church on Sunday so we have to go back soon! But it was huge blessing from the Lord, I feel that they are a family prepared by the Lord!

This week was not Sister Ns baptism, the papers are still in process so we are hopeful for that this week! On Thursday night we had to travel to Asuncion to sign migration papers for Elder S and it gave me a chance to pass by Salado for a quick moment to have Breakfast with the C family! They are completely active! And have Callings! So that was a huge blessing to see! We would get back late Friday night and work all day Saturday and have a good turn out for church of 31 so we are trying to grow! I have so much hope and enthusiasm for San Pedro, I feel it just needs one little thing and then it will explode with growth! So I am on the search for that little thing! Thank you all for your prayers and know that I love you all! I will write more next week!

Week #65

Dearest Family!

Another week down! And it sounds like that all is going well in Arizona! I am glad to hear that all is going well grade wise for the kids I am sure everyone is studying hard looking forward to summer time! :) as usual! Mike's talk sounded super good! Tithing is super important! This week was amazing to see Sister Amalia ask for a tithing slip to pay tithing! One week after her confirmation! I was so shocked! But of course super happy to know that she is starting off really good :) so I will have to use that analogy when I teach, its perfect! Megan is leaving for Utah this week and she sounds super excited! I know she is going to be safe and I hope she finds what she wants at UVU!

This week started out as a surprise to see that President arranged for us to have our interviews this week! I would see President McM 2 times in one week for the first time in a long time! Just because he has to travel so far to get here! Anyways he interviewed Elder Sa and I together to talk about the area and its progress which was really good! Then he asked for some time alone to talk to Elder Sa, before I left I told President to interview him in English because Elder Sa has been practicing a bunch! Well he did it! They had their whole interview in English and President McM was super impressed with how fast he has learned English and his accent! My interview was good! It was funny because it was literally for 5 minutes! He asked me how I was and before I responded he told me that he could see and feel that I was really good! He complemented me for Elder Sa and his training and told me he could feel that I was an excellent missionary! I was touched and that would end my 5 minute interview!  Our training was super good after, we talked about goals and the importance of mastering goals in the mission! It is definitely something that I have learned and I haven't mastered quite yet, but I have a little time to get it down!

We have been praying all this week for the B family and Sister N! The process is going! It is a long one! But it is finishing up. I don't know if it will all turn out this week but I feel that if not Saturday then the next Saturday sister N will be baptized and this family can progress and receive even more blessings! With Sister A she is doing super good! She is still going upward in her progress! Her neighbor M is a little difficult and we have concluded that she is scared to be baptized, for family reasons or fearing to fail afterwards, but we still help her and we want her to understand that it is her choice! That we are here to help her understand the importance of this choice! The family we gave the Proclamation turns out to be visiting! They live in another part :( but we took down their information and sent it the mission office! they are super prepared! We gave them a Book of Mormon and they were super interested in it! The Dad started reading it right after we left! So it wasn't our fruit to pick but we have super high hopes for them! :)

This week wasn't too hot! It rained quite a bit! So I am doing good health wise and attitude wise! Thank you for your prayers and all that you do to help me! I love you all so much and pray for your goals! Keep working hard and studying! I will write more next week! Chau!

Elder Milton

Week #64

Dearest Family!

I am so glad that everyone is doing super good and that everyone had a super good week! I am super sad to see that I missed Megan's performance! It sounded like it was super good and I am looking forward to the recording! I cant believe that the super bowl came and went! I completely forgot about it, and even forgot that we are in February! So that just shows the little bubble I live in here in good ol San Pedro! :)

This week started out good! A traveling week for the Zone conference which was always good to spend the night at the Santani chapel which feels just like home now hahah. But the this conference was good,  President really buckled down and was very direct that we need to work harder and that we aren't achieving our potencial as a mission. After that we had a little zone activity and played a few games and then headed home! Elder So has joined our zone so I was able to see him for the first time in a year! It was super good to see him and talk about old times!

The rest of the week we worked super hard and Hermana AA was able to have her interview and be baptized! It was a super super spiritual baptism. Elder Sa was able to baptize her and we had support of the members. A HUGE answer to so many prayers. I was able to confirm her and she was crying so I know she felt the spirit! To think that we talked to her for the first time 2 months ago! If we hadn't opened our mouths, she wouldn't have been able to feel and experience the love and change of this Gospel. She was truly prepared to receive this message from us! It was such a huge blessing!

We also have been working hard for the B family to help them and motivate them to get married on Friday the 13th this month! And then baptize Sister N on the 14th! We also found a family this week that read the the family a proclamation to the world and they loved it! We were able to read with them and have a powerful prayer with the whole family after kneeling! The bad news is that we didn't understand their last name but we will be passing by the teach them some more and get them to come to church!

Everything is going good! We were able to have a sweet testimony meeting yesterday and I am feeling that some of these members are finally waking up. So we will continue to help them and find new people to teach this week! I love you all so much and pray for you! I will write more next week! :)

Week #63

Hola Familia!

Sounds like it was another good quiet week! I am glad to find everyone in good spirits! And good health besides the allergies. But it sounds like all in all is going really good! How are the New Year goals doing?! Adios caffeine?! What chapter are you in for the Book Of Mormon? Please tell Kody congrats for his wolf badge! That is so crazy! Poor Megan and Kali the dentist is the worst haha... But I am super humbled and happy that everyone is doing super good!

This week was a good week! Another week of service! We cut 3 trees, painted a house and the best of all has to wait because it has super funny story! We were teaching of our Recent Converts L, and she was planning the birthday party for her son J who is 3 years old. She was stressing out super bad about what to do for the cake! She didn't have too much money to buy one, and she thought her Aunt was going to make it but her Aunt went out of town! So she was expressing all of this to us really stressed! And my companion said ¨Elder S knows how to make cakes! He was a chef for the Navy in Brazil!¨ So Elder S roped Elder S into cooking a giant cake for 4 hours! And it was super awesome! He made it so special, and the best part is when they asked how much Elder S wanted for the cake, he said nothing but he did to help them. To see their faces with so much joy! It really was amazing!

This week we worked hard with Mr and Ml to help them prepare for their baptism! All went super good until Sunday, Mr got really sick and went the hospital! But Ml came and she is going to be baptized THIS Saturday! She is so excited and really was prepared by the Lord, the only thing she had to change was come to church and stop drinking coffee which was no problem for her! So we are going to be super blessed this week to have a baptism! The worry that we have is helping her have friends in the unity. The members are sometimes really cold...and we are trying to really help them so that the spirit is warm and friendly! So that people don't get scared away for feeling alone, or rejected in the church! So we will be working extra hard to help her have friends, a assignment, and nourishment from the word of God like President Hinkley said!

The District is doing really good! We are getting along and I feel that we are working hard. I really am honored to serve with these missionaries here! I really am so happy to be here and to help these people here in San Pedro the best way I can. I am so glad I stayed again! I really cant imagine leaving the people or these missionaries quite yet. But I know the Lord has a plan and I will do my best to complete it and his will! Thank you for your email and I hope that everyone has a good week! I love you all and pray for you all the time! I will write more next week!

Love Always,
Elder Milton
