Week #74

Hey Family!

So this week was BUSY! We have been hosting all week these Nivacle who are an Indian Tribe that 7 of them are heading out to serve missions! So we have been planning and carpooling to get their shopping, endowments, and patriarchal blessings done. It was good! We had a chance to do divisions and teach some people in our areas. My division was with one named C. and he was super smart! He knew Spanish, Nivacle, and Guarani so he was one of the more prepared ones that came to visit us! I felt the spirit so strong when I was with him, The Nivacle story is a long inspiring story but basically being and Indian tribe they are descendants of the Lamanites and almost all in Paraguay have accepted the Gospel! So I was watching a Book of Mormon prophecy being fulfilled!

I was able to show my video this week to the first zone, it went well! I wish I could send it and that you guys could understand it! But when I am home I will have to translate! But it was a little harsh, but it was what I decided with the assistants that we needed to do to help the mission be more consecrated. So 1 zone down and 9 more to go! I hope that everyone continues to like it!

The street this week was really good! We have a handful of investigators that we are working with. One namely is the N. family, the dad is a less active member and the wife and their 3 kids are not, something happened with an old missionary that offended the family so we are trying to repair damage and replace it with a firm testimony in the gospel! Also yesterday Elder S. called me and told me that N.O. got married and baptized in San Pedro! So I was so happy and I will have to send the picture when I get it!

My companion Elder J. has had some complications, but we have talked really good this week and I am trying to help him to finish off his mission strong! He is going home in July and he is doing a lot better than last week! So we are getting along and working really well together! And we are getting out of the office at 5 so we are getting better :)

So this was my week really condensed! But it was a good week! My health is doing super good and I am so blessed to have the chance to serve this mission! I pray for you always and I love you all so much!

Love Always,
Elder Milton

Week #73

Dearest Family!

I survived change week! But before I go into detail I should talk about last weekend being General Conference and of course EASTER! It was a super conference. I really enjoyed it and I really sensed that the speakers were all inspired to say exactly what we all need to hear. Especially Elder Milton! I really enjoyed every session. But to choose just two that hit right at home was Elder Holland and Elder Uchtdorf with his grace talk. Actually I loved them so much that I am including their highlights in a a video I am making for the mission! I have showed the final product to some of the office staff and half of them say it is what we need to hear and its super motivating, the other half says that its just too harsh and that I should change it. When I say harsh I mean that some people won't take the criticism, but I am leaning towards showing it! Our mission has gone through a change in our focus and some people arent quite with the program. So we will see the first zones reaction.

Well then began the changes...So we would start it getting everything prepared on Monday and of course our transformer blew up! So we were without power! Poor President McM. was doing changes by candle light! All night and we wouldnt get the changes officially done until Tuesday afternoon. Which is the latest they have ever been done! And so changes hit me again! My new companion is Elder J. and I got transferred wards so my new ward is Mburucuja and I have hardly met anyone from it because this week has been dedicated to changes. Tuesday the new missionaries came in and we had to give them and intro to the mission and I had to teach them in a station what I do and also how to keep their house clean and maintained. So that was interesting! We had 11 sisters come in and 4 Elders. They are all super nice and got assigned some super awesome trainers!

Changes finally ended and then we had to figure out what to do with the missionaries that had to go home. So we went to go souvenir shopping and got their migrations done and then sent them out super early in the morning! So it was sad to see some people go but they all the missionaries were super good so I dont think any had any regrets they all served honorable missions!

Well this week is going to be a super busy one as well! There is an Indian tribe in the north part of Paraguay called the Nivacle, well 7 of them got their mission calls and we have to help them prepare this week! From clothes shopping, getting endowed, patriarchal blessings and then getting back home in 2 days! But We are super excited for them and they are so amazed by everything technology wise so I am excited to help them out! They speak more or less spanish!

Well I love you and I hope everything is going well for the family! I am praying for you always and I hope that work and school going super good! I will write more next week!

Love Always,
Elder Milton

Week #72

Querida Familia,

I am glad to see that everyone is enjoying the Easter vacation and sounds like everyone is doing good temporally and spiritually! Mom and her class sounds super hard, and I am sure the kids are enjoying their mini vacation! Are you going to paint eggs?! Also Kelly did tell me she headed back out! That is super amazing and I am so amazed by her diligence :) thank you for praying for her! Mike I am sure is learning SO much, I am jealous! I can't wait to hear some cool stories!  I am glad to see that everyone will be in tune for General Conference! Most all of our Proselyting time we have been teaching about Prophets and inviting everyone and their dog to come today and tomorrow. It will be really neat because my stake center is the chapel right next to the temple so I am hoping we can teach a little about the temple in between sessions!

We visited R. early on in the week but he changed his schedule a little bit, which makes it harder for us to find him because we would have to leave the office earlier. But he is doing good and we are hoping he comes to conference, we gave him an invitation and we are going to call him to come! This week being Holy Week has had Paraguay shut down. Which was two benefits! One we were able to teach a lot of families and find a bunch of new people to visit! Next I got to practice a bunch driving! It is SO fun and I was so scared after not driving for so long haha. But we have been really blessed to find some of the people and share the He lives video with some! Now that I am in a richer part more people have access to internet and can watch the video. It has been a big tool to find people and contact some people to change it up a little bit!

Office wise we are doing good! We are going to have a big week next week with changes coming up...yesterday for staff meeting we planned for 2 hours so that we can coordinate EVERYTHING from beds to food to the car arrangements! It is going to be crazy! Plus I have to teach a station about House care and how to keep the house clean. That part makes me laugh haha. Also I am in charge of making videos for the mission so on Monday night I was working with the Assistants to make the Newbie Introduction to the Mission video and we were here doing just fine and finished at 2AM when the computer just shut down without saving it! So we would stay for another 2 hours and finish up at 4AM so it was a LONG night. So there is just a bunch of stuff and side stuff to do in the office to keep the mission running smooth and effective! But my companion Elder B. and I are getting along super well and we are working super good together! In the office and out in the street so I am super grateful for that! Sadly on April Fools day I didn't realize that I missed a day worth of jokes until I wrote in my journal! But we joke plenty in the office haha. My companion is the Finance Secretary so something that always bugs him is when the whole mission calls him to ask if there is money on the first Monday of the month...so that Monday night at 3AM I called him and he thought it was an emergency for calling so late because he went home to sleep and I stayed with the Assistants, well I just called him to ask if the money was ready for the month to bug him and he just busted up laughing and hung up. It was super funny!

Thank you writing and always thinking about me! Mother´s day is soon so I will be letting you know the schedule :) Watch the conference and choose your favorites talks and tell me! I love you so much and pray for you always! I will be writing more soon!

Love Always,
Elder Milton
