Welcome to 2015!
Wow I cant believe it is here haha when I first started the mission it felt like a lifetime away! And now it is here and now more than ever I will have to put the hard hat on and work even harder! :)
It sounded like a good week for everyone! I am hopeful that everyone enjoyed their vacation and now they can go back to studying and working hard :) I was thinking of goals this week as well and I have set many for this year personally! Mom I think that is a wonderful goal to give up soda! Here in the mission it is not allowed to drink caffeine. And I have set the goal when I get home to not drink it anymore! So Adios Pepsi! I have been meaning to tell you guys this since Skyeping but I think it would be a great goal for the family to read all of the Book of Mormon before I get home! It would be great for Kali and Kody and also to help you guys learn together! :) but that is my idea!
I will look up this talk and print it out so that I can read it! But it is important to learn as much as you can! I have had many people in the mission tell me that I knew a lot...which is a lie but I can say I know a little about a lot of things! For example yesterday a Sister couldn't start up her motorcycle and asked the missionaries to help her, well I was the only one who knew how to start a motorcycle and helped her to get it running! Another example would be this week we had the chance to paint a house when we were proselyting, we just so happened to contact this house and I offered to help them, at first they doubted me that I couldn't get dirty in my clothes, and then they doubted I didn't know how to paint because I am a Norteamericano. So i showed them and I painted a whole house! So there are tons of things to learn! And a lot of resources! :)
Packages. Nothing still, I have to wait until President comes this month or if we have changes next week we will go to the office!
This week was rough haha I call it the hangover week, which I am sure happens in all parts of the world so there were few people AWAKE to teach this week! Put we did find a really awesome family! We painted this house and were really interested in our message, so we will be teaching them this week! The L family. We are working with some families that have great potential! The sad part of this week was 9:30 am. Church starts at 9 and nobody showed up, so we started the Gospel Prinicples class with the four missionaries at 9:30 am a few more people showed up and we would have an attendance of 10 people counting the missionaries! I presided, that is how many people didn't come! But as I thought of what we didn't do right this week, after I gave my testimony, I felt like there was something that we lacked...but then a recent convert who finished the Book of Mormon with us 2 days earlier stood up and gave a really powerful testimony of the Book of Mormon! She was super grateful that we set this goal for her to finish before the end of they year and she wants to help her family come to church and feel how she feels! It made me feel so much better! A feeling of success that cant be counted in numbers. I am going to create a certificate for her today and give it to her! She read it from my birthday until December 31st and finished! It was awesome!
Well this week is the last week of the change and I have high hopes for our work this week and for the people we will teach. Thank you for your love and your prayers! I don't know what I would do without them! I pray for you always and I will write you more next week! I love you!
Love Always,
Elder Milton
