Week #35

Dear Family,

Well...The kids are almost back to school which is crazy! I cant believe how fast summer went! Well for you guys, I dont want to winter to end here!

This week was good! We have been really focusing on the Q family, they are progressing little by little! One of the kids went to the Seminary class the stake offers on Saturdays and he really enjoyed it! So it was a good sign and they also attend the cooking class that Elder G teaches!

This week I went out of the area for the first time in forever on a division! I went to an area named Emboscada and it was BEAUTIFUL! My companion for the day is named Elder M from Peru and well basically to sum it all up his plans all fell through haha. So we walked around a bunch which was good! He also introduced me to an investigator that wants to be baptized but she lacks permission from her parents! So he had this plan to bring her aunt to this lesson with her parents so that we could get the permission! So off we went and the Dad was willing to listen to us for a little bit and I was really lost because he didnt tell me how or what we were going to do! Haha

Well he is a little new so I had to have a little patience with him! Well we were like going in circles and Elder M was scared and didn't want to ask the golden question. So I had to do it! I asked him very respectfully if his daughter MA had his permission to be baptized and he said YES! I dont know how or why but for sure the spirit was there to help me gain the confidence of this dad to have her daughter be baptized! Elder M was so relieved and gave me the biggest hug afterward haha. But It was a huge blessing! So she will be baptized next week!

After the division, I was reunited with Elder G in Salado and gave me more great news! M. asked that I would baptize him! So I was super honored! And later that night the baptism was super super spiritual! The whole family attended to support him and he was super excited. His Mom and Dad were super proud! Also JC baptized a little girl from the ward so there were a lot of people! JC will be leaving on the 30th for Columbia so he was a little emotional. And now that I think about it...we will probably leave Salado together! Changes are on the 30th! So we will find out soon! The spirit was so strong and the A family is working to re-enter the temple and we have permission to enter with them! So I am super excited!

Also this week we started teaching this family named Ag.. The Dad/Husband is member but his wife isn't. Well they aren't legally married but we set a marriage date and baptismal date with them for August 9th! They are excited but have a lot of work to do from here until then! So we are excited to work with them more!

So did you all read Preach My Gospel chapter 1?!

Well I am excited to hear your answers to my question from last week! The studying I did this week made me arrive at this conclusion:
People say that we are saved by the faith and grace of Jesus Christ and that there is nothing we can do to achieve our salvation without Jesus Christ no matter how good we are! This is true! However we need to understand what it means to be saved. Jesus Christ saved us from physical death and spiritual death. That is to say we will all be resurrected! However this does not meant that we will automatically be made good when we are resurrected as it says in Alma 41:2-3. We will be resurrected and then be judged according to our works. According to our works we will be put accordingly in the Kingdom of Glory we earned in this life. So faith and works are necessary! A really good parable that Jesus used is found in John 15:1-8! Write me what the symbols are and what they mean :)

Well this week was super good! And I am super blessed...I am going to really miss Salado and more importantly the people! I am working hard to leave it knowing that I gave my all! Thank you for your prayers and love! I will write you more next week with the news of the changes! I love you all!
Love Always,
Elder Milton
